Flights resume at London’s Gatwick Airport

London's Gatwick Airport resumed flights on Wednesday (July 10) after closing its runway for almost two hours due to "an air traffic control systems issue", it said.

An air traffic control problem has forced London's Gatwick Airport to suspend all flights.

All flights in and out of London Gatwick Airport (LGW/EGKK) had been suspended this evening due to a technical fault with the air traffic control system at the airport.

Passengers on two early morning flights from Turkey had to wait about three hours for their luggage to arrive at baggage reclaim on Thursday.

Departure boards at the airport reportedly said that more information would be released at 7pm.

The problems occur just as the summer rush has started, with the airport gearing up got its busiest time of year.

He added: "Our advice to passengers is to check with their airline before travelling to the airport".

Gatwick Airport suffered major disruption last December, when the facility was plagued by repeated drone sightings during Christmas week.
