Grant meets his idol Barbra Streisand after Hyde Park show

They crossed paths again 20 years later, when Streisand performed at the Wembley Arena for an event benefitting the Prince's Trust charity.

Barbra Streisand had some royal fun at her London show over the weekend. She told Kristofferson "here's a song that we sang together in the movie, right?" The film's shining number "Evergreen" was named Best Original Song at the 1976 Academy Awards, co-penned by Streisand and Paul Williams. "I love this song".

"After the performance, the protocol was for her to get up first, but she pushed me up and made me get up first", Streisand recalled.

"Lost Inside of You" has remained an underdog in her catalog for most of the intervening years, as she has seemed reluctant to revive it as anything other than a duet.

The concert also saw the Evergreen hitmaker team up with Kris Kristofferson to perform their A Star Is Born duet, Lost Inside of You, live for the first time ever - 43 years after they starred in the 1976 version of the musical drama together.

Streisand was performing in front of a sellout crowd of 65,000 at Hyde Park, said to be the biggest audience she's performed for since a Central Park gig for 150,000 in 1968.

Streisand took the reins after Kristofferson's performance, offering up a nostalgic setlist chock-full of classic songs including "As If We Never Said Goodbye", "Alfie", "Second Hand Rose", "Silent Night", "What the World Needs Now" and "The Man That Got Away".

Streisand teased the reunion on Instagram in April, posting an image of the pair with the caption,"It was so wonderful to see my friend Kris who stopped by yesterday".
