New MacBook Pro up to 83% faster than the previous generation

The 13-inch MacBook Pro takes the position of Apple's entry-level Pro model, with new 8th-generation Intel quad-core processors under the hood. Also, the entry-level Macbook Pro has now been given the Touch Bar.

According to Apple, the newest version of the 13-MacBook Pro is "two times more powerful" than the 2017 model. MacRumors reports that iMac, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini prices for 1 TB SSDs are $200 less than before the updates, with 2 TB SSDs on the MacBook Pro and Mac mini dropping by $400, and the 4 TB SSD for the MacBook Pro plummeting by $1400. If you've been meaning to get a new laptop, now would be a better time than most.

Hot on the heels of Apple's MacBook announcements and price cuts, Amazon is giving the MacBook Air a price cut of its own.

To go along with its stunning screen, the new MacBook Air also has improved sound, with more bass and louder volume than previous models. Full pricing is available on the Apple website. Under the program, users who experience abnormal behaviour on the MacBook Air or MacBook Pro's keyboard are eligible for service free of charge.

Looking under the hood of the new entry-level MacBook Pro, it appears that the notebook is powered by a custom variant of Intel's U-series processors. At present, Apple doesn't offer a quad-core processor option for the MacBook Air.

Apple's new 13-inch MacBook Pro has been given the teardown treatment over at iFixit, with some interesting revelations concerning the battery, keyboard, SSD and more.

Currently, you can get the Apple MacBook Air (128GB) for $999. College students and their parents, faculty, staff, and home-school teachers can pick up a qualifying Mac or iPad and receive a pair of Beats headphones as a bonus.
