Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A refresh for 2019 arrives with a whimper

This new addition, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) is an 8-inch entry-level tablet with specifications that are not very exciting to deep smartphone enthusiasts.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2019) comes with an 8-inch TFT display with 1280×800px resolution (WXGA), protected by 2.5D curved tempered glass. The device is the successor to the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) which was released in September. It is fuelled by a huge 5,100mAh battery.

Perhaps as a carrot on a stick to tempt those who only feel indifference when looking at the specifications listed above, Samsung is also including two months of YouTube Premium and three months of Spotify Premium with each Galaxy Tab A purchase.

It'd be better if we say this as an upgrade rather than new, as this Tab A 8.0 is a mere updated Tab of its predecessor. On the price front, Samsung hasn't revealed anything yet.

The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) is powered by the Snapdragon 429 SoC coupled with 2GB RAM.

Just like the other members of the family, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab will come in two variants. the standard one will be a Wi-Fi only variant and the other one will be Wi-Fi + LTE.

Both the variants have a kid mode which can be enabled from the quick panel. It runs Android Pie out of the box and has 32GB of storage onboard.

Camera-wise, the tablet features an 8MP main shooter on the back and a 2MP sensor on the front for selfies and video calling. This tab is available to you in the Silver and Black color options in metallic design. Furthermore, Samsung has also added dual speakers for a stereophonic audio experience. Powering up the entire system is a 5100mAh battery.
