Taylor Swift Is The Highest-Paid Celebrity

Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and make-up mogul Jenner was hot on her heels with £136 million.

Forbes compiled its 2019 list by estimating pre-tax earnings from June 2018-June 2019, before deducting fees for managers, based on data from Nielsen, touring trade publication Pollstar, movie database IMDB and interviews with industry experts and numerous celebrities themselves.

Following Kanye West at No. 4 on the list is soccer star Lionel Messi, who is now making $80 million annually with FC Barcelona through the 2020-2021 season.

Swift earned much of that money from touring.

Swift has been on top of this list before.

Forbes noted that Swift's 2018 "Reputation" stadium trek was the highest grossing tour in US history at $266.1 million, and also that the artist benefitted from a new deal with Universal's Republic label and the sharing of proceeds from Universal's sale of its Spotify stake. Her Reputation world tour (which began last year) became the highest grossing U.S tour ever since Billboard began tracking tours in 1990 (!), while her 1984 tour in 2017 was also largely successful.

Taylor Swift is immensely popular, so it wouldn't be surprising to learn that she is the highest-paid musician in the world.

Editors at Forbes estimated the 29-year-old singer made $185 million (£148 million) in pre-tax earnings in the year beginning 1 June 2018. In 2016, Swift captured the first-place spot courtesy of The 1989 World Tour.

Jenner follows close behind with $170 million due to her Kylie Cosmetics makeup line and distribution deal with retailer Ulta. Business Insider has Swift's net worth totaling about $360 million as of this month. She's released two singles, "ME!" and "You Need To Calm Down", both off of her upcoming album "Lover" which is scheduled to be released later this summer.
