YouTuber Ray Diaz Arrested for Sexual Assault

A Westchester resident sexually assaulted a girl who was being detained while he was working as a loss prevention officer at a Kohl's in Fairfield County, police said.

"The LAPD is aware of several social media posts related to a social media personality, alleging physical abuse and sexual relations with a minor", the LAPD tweeted Thursday night.

However, Los Angeles police chief Michel Moore used his personal Twitter account to acknowledge the arrest. "Their work brings a small measure of justice".

Moore also thanked the public for their "outpouring of concern regarding the case". "We are better when we share the responsibility of making sure every member of our community is safe".

The department opened an investigation this week after a video appeared on the teen's Instagram account July 5.

The alleged victim later said in an interview with "DramaAlert" YouTube channel host Daniel "Keemstar" Keem that she had been dating Diaz for about a year.

"I was just so scared always because he would yell at me always".

The teen and her mother said they have both filed restraining orders with the LAPD, Newsweek said.

Espichan, who lives in White Plains, NY, is charged with 4th degree Sexual Assault, 2 counts of Reckless Endangerment, 2 counts of Unlawful Restraint 1st and Disorderly Conduct.

On July 5, Salek posted-and later deleted-a clip on Instagram of a man, alleged to be Diaz.

Diaz denied the allegations of abuse last week on The Hollywood Fix and said he and the girl in the video were acting.

At the time of this post, Diaz was not named, but no one was fooled in the comments. He was released on $50,000 bail, Newsweek said. While still advertised in his Instagram bio, his page appears to be inactive. Clips posted to her social media allegedly show Diaz being verbally and physically abusive, leading to calls for his arrest, CBS Los Angeles reported.
