Saoirse Ronan takes centre stage in Little Women trailer

We have our first look at Greta Gerwig's highly-anticipated Little Women adaptation, and it is DREAMY!

The first trailer for Greta Gerwig's "Little Women" is here with plenty of feminist content from its all-star cast.

Major household names, Emma Thompson, Meryl Streep and Laura Dern feature and with new kid on the block, Timothée Chalamet, who won rave reviews for his Beautiful Boy performance, the line-up truly is wonderful. In this new version, Emma Watson plays Meg March, Saoirse Ronan plays Jo March, Florence Pugh (Midsommar) plays Amy March, Eliza Scanlen (Sharp Objects) plays Beth March, and Timothee Chalamet plays Theodore Laurence.

Ronan portrays an aspiring writer who is working on a novel about her life and sisters, who are determined to live their life on their own terms. "It is a story of my life and my sisters", Jo, the protagonist who Alcott based off herself, is heard saying in the trailer.

"Make it short and spicy", an editor advises.

"Women have minds and they have souls, as well as just hearts. I'm so sick of it". Laura Dern plays the March matriarch Marmee, while Meryl Streep plays the rich Aunt March.

Past adaptations of "Little Women" have included director George Cukor's 1933 film starring Katharine Hepburn as Jo, director Gillian Armstrong's 1994 film with Winona Ryder in that role, and the 2017 PBS miniseries directed by Vanessa Caswill and starring Maya Hawke as Jo.
