The Crown: Season Three Premiere Date Announced by Netflix

This will be the first season with Academy Award victor Olivia Colman taking on the role of Queen Elizabeth II. I'm also curious if the show will continue to feel like The Crown, or if Season 3 will seem like a reset of sorts since they've now got a new cast.

Seasons 1-2 of The Crown is streaming on Netflix now.

It's been almost two years since fans of Netflix's hit The Crown got their fix, and we now know when our favourite royals drama will return to TV: Nov. 17! Marion Bailey (Allied) plays the Queen Mother.

The British actress is perhaps best known for starring in Broadchurch and The Night Manager, for which she won Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards for best actress in a drama.

Game of Thrones star Tobias Menzies will play her husband, Prince Philip, and Oscar nominee Helena Bonham Carter will play her sister, Princess Margaret.

The trailer, which is only about 20 seconds long, only briefly shows Colman as the queen but is accompanied by the sound of an ominous ticking clock.

Krista Smith, Peter Morgan, Claire Foy, Vanessa Kirby and Jane Petrie speak onstage during the For Your Consideration event for Netflix's "The Crown" at Saban Media Center on April 27, 2018, in North Hollywood, California. The first season cost a rumoured £100m to make.

The third and fourth seasons will focus on the time from 1964 to the late '70s, according to BuzzFeed. "She's lovely and she said I can call her anytime". The dramatic time jump led the show's creators to recast the series.
