The Official Trailer for Greta Gerwig's "Little Women" Is Here

In this new version, Emma Watson plays Meg March, Saoirse Ronan plays Jo March, Florence Pugh (Midsommar) plays Amy March, Eliza Scanlen (Sharp Objects) plays Beth March, and Timothee Chalamet plays Theodore Laurence.

"Women, they have minds and they have souls as well as just hearts", Ronan's Jo says in the trailer.

Just go ahead and give Little Women all the awards. Timothée Chalamet plays their neighbor Laurie, and Meryl Streep is Aunt March. The first trailer for the film is now online.

The new film adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's 1868 novel was filmed in MA a year ago. The pair notably starred in the critically-acclaimed 2017 film Lady Bird, which was also directed by Greta.

Nevertheless, Little Women will have some tough competition at the 2020 Oscars. In the novel, Laurie falls in love with Jo, but Jo doesn't feel the same kind of love for Laurie that he feels for her. Now that's some family drama.

"Little Women" was big news around MA this past fall, with actors in period-appropriate attire popping up around the Back Bay area and Boston Common as well as prominent Boston spots like the Fairmont Copley Plaza and Arnold Arboretum. Instead, Gerwig has clearly found her own take on the material, and I can't wait to see how it all shakes out when it arrives in theaters on Christmas.

The latest adaptation is set to be released on December 25. However, they aren't the only celebrities in the cast.
